My Favorite Kind of YA: Foolish Emma Mills

Oh my heart! I was so close to losing faith in YA contemporaries after not loving so many YA contemporaries these past few years but Foolish Hearts has restored my faith in YA, once again.  I’m a simple reader. I like to read to escape and I love my YA contemporaries to be just the perfect mix of sweet, swoony and fluffy. I know how important those tough subject books are, and although I have loved many, sometimes they are just emotionally draining. I want the slow burn, I want the first kisses and I want to experience the butterflies in my stomach as I read along! Foolish Hearts fully delivered on all that and more. This isn’t the first book that I’ve loved by this author, so I had really high hopes for it before going in and I’m so happy that all my expectations were met (and exceeded).  What I love about this author’s style of writing, is that everything is so simple. No unnecessary plot twists, but the story still hooks you. It kind of sneaks up on you in a way cause there you are enjoying a sweet read, and next thing you know you are fully invested in the story and the characters.
