A year ago, Flynn Cormac and Jubilee Chase made the now infamous Avon Broadcast, calling on the galaxy to witness for their planet, and protect them from destruction. Some say Flynn’s a madman, others whisper about conspiracies. Nobody knows the truth. A year before that, Tarver Merendsen and Lilac LaRoux were rescued from a terrible shipwreck—now, they live a public life in front of the cameras, and a secret life away from the world’s gaze.

Now, in the center of the universe on the planet of Corinth, all four are about to collide with two new players, who will bring the fight against LaRoux Industries to a head. Gideon Marchant is an eighteen-year-old computer hacker—a whiz kid and an urban warrior. He’ll climb, abseil and worm his way past the best security measures to pull off onsite hacks that others don’t dare touch.

Sofia Quinn has a killer smile, and by the time you’re done noticing it, she’s got you offering up your wallet, your car, and anything else she desires. She holds LaRoux Industries responsible for the mysterious death of her father and is out for revenge at any cost.

When a LaRoux Industries security breach interrupts Gideon and Sofia’s separate attempts to infiltrate their headquarters, they’re forced to work together to escape. Each of them has their own reason for wanting to take down LaRoux Industries, and neither trusts the other. But working together might be the best chance they have to expose the secrets LRI is so desperate to hide.

If I had to list my all time favorite audiobooks/series, Illuminae, The Lunar Chronicles and the Starbound Trilogy would definitely be my top 3 picks!  For those of you who don’t like or have never heard an audiobook, let me just say that you guys are missing out big time.  Audiobooks have improved a great deal in the last 2-3 years, and these three series are the ones I’ve been the most impressed with.  When I first heard These Broken Stars on audio last year, it was a game changer for me in terms of audiobooks. It was the first one I had heard that had special effects and multiple narrators that went above and beyond to bring this book to life.  I was hooked on this series after that and knew there was no other way I wanted to read this series other than on audio.

Audiobook Comments: If I wasn’t already in love with the previous audiobooks, there was no way I wasn’t missing out on this one after I found out that one of my favorite narrators was one of the leads.  For those of you that hav not had the pleasure of listening to him, MacLeod Andrews is one of the best (and one of my favorite) male narrators for YA books.  He has that perfect suave and charming voice that just goes perfect with each character he is playing, and he was the perfect Gideon.  Kim Mai Guest is a narrator I’ve heard before, and while I didn’t particularly enjoy her performance in Soundless (he voice was a bit high and squeaky), she was fantastic as Sophia.  When I got my audiobook copy in the mail and I realized that it had two extra narrators that were not listed on Audible, I freaked out a little.  Mainly because one of the narrators is Abby Craden and I am not a fan of her because her voice is just too… it always sounds like she just had sex…if that makes sense.  She narrates a lot of NA books and although I don’t like her as a narrator, she was the narrator for ‘the whispers’ in between chapters and her raspy voice actually worked out perfect since she kind of loudly whispered those parts.  I always love these extra bonuses Listening Library adds to these audiobooks and it was great being able to finally get more information about these whispers.  We also get a special bonus narrator, Cynthia Halloway, who I’ve heard so many times and is really great.  Her part is short, but it’s a good one for a character I wasn’t expecting.

Their Fractured Light was a fantastic conclusion to an already epic series.  I’m in awe of how the authors were able to not only wrap up this story, but also tie in these characters and their back stories the way they did.  I fell in love with Gideon and Sophia, separately and as a couple, just as much as I fell in love with the other characters.  Speaking of the other characters, it was so great being able to see so much of them in this book.  There were plenty of moments that shocked me (hello plot twists!) and all in all I can’t think of a better way to end this series.  I’m sad to say goodbye to this world and these characters, but I’m glad I have them all on audiobook so I can relisten to them again.  As you can tell, this audiobook was amazing and gets 5 stars from me!  This is one of those audiobook series that I will always recommend! If you want a more in-depth review of the actual story, you can read Nick’s review!
